Father John

Fr. John (Macpherson) is a priest-monk  of the Orthodox Church who has dedicated himself to  the needs of those at risk of suicide and other difficulties in development and establishment, as they find their place in life.

As a young man Fr. John studied psychology specialising in early childhood development to gain the ability to understand and be useful.

He is the founder of CommStrength Foundation – his work is non  religio- specific and therefore open to all without question of belief.

Life for Fr. John began in Mitchell, Queensland as the first son of Mary and John who were pastoralists and he became the first of seven.  The family were of Scottish descent, whose forebears had arrived from Scotland in the time of Governor MacArthur. It could be said that they arrived with sheep.

He is called FJ by those who get to know him and considers it an endearment and a joy.
